This Weeks Learning:
Writing: We are working on story beginnings. This weeks focus was on using action. We are learning that good writers need a hook to grab their readers attention. We have discussed how jumping straight to the action or problem makes for a great beginning. We had to write beginnings to a stories titled "The Bully" and "The Bear"
Social Studies: We have been comparing the maps, flags and landscapes of Canada, Peru and India.
Science: This week we have looked at Sound. A highlight this week was playing in Chrome Music Maker to show how sound waves, vibration, frequency, volume, and pitch can be visible. The link is in our Google Classroom if you want to show your parents.
Pink Shirt Day: This entire week we have been celebrating kindness. Kindness ninjas were hidden throughout the school. We created and shared a kindness video we with the other grade 3 classes. We thought of ways to show kindness while at school, at home and to our earth. Students acted as kindness ninjas, secretly writing encouragement notes to other students ins their class.
